Good, bad or remarkable art

My guru Richard is always saying that a good piece of art is one that you never get tired of seeing. He praises Kibria. That makes sense, he knew Kibria personally and his Avant Garde.

But it”s true. We need a way to escape from our everyday hassles. A good stanza or tune energizes us, inspires dreams, or shows us a thought. But there are not many pieces of art to lead us. How few things have I had that have never become obsolete! So that artists never to old in their core. Picasso once said ‘every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.’ Even very recently the young, Singapore-based artist Donna Ong says ‘I promised myself as a child. Never to forget what online casino nederland it felt like to be a child. To dream and invest in the imaginary.’ She just won the best emerging artist award at Prudential eye awards for contemporary Asian artist this week. Hence, while people may frown at my childishness, I am really proud of that. Maturity may not be always good for creating art.

Not necessarily will a pretty piece of art always make you happy. You might have a different taste. Just remember that for years and years artists have been producing millions of art, not really based on the beauty but rather a strong philosophy that is overlooked by the most audiences. If we look back at the masterpieces, they may still thrill us but not many of them are actually good-looking art. At least that’s what my sister says :)

I was told to draw mosques several times, but I started painting crows. I hope there are some people out there who love to see crows and never get tired of them. And of course if you can see more than what you have in front of you, definitely you are a visionary. But please, please, please try to see the right things.
